HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER
We need both Greek and English speaking volunteers including:-
• People willing to work in our Charity Shop. These duties involve dealing with customers, culling donated clothing and bric-a-brac as well as collecting stuff from donor’s homes. Our Charity Shop opens 6 mornings a week from 09:30 to 12:30 Mondays to Saturdays whilst culling and collecting donated stuff goes on all the time. The current volunteer team work on a ‘daily basis’ or a ‘once a week basis’ depending upon their personal needs.
• People willing to work in the Limassol Hospice Care Unit. These duties involve bereavement counselling, just talking to patients and their families and simple duties like tending flowers and helping our health care assistants feed our patients. Training courses are available to potential volunteers and our main focus is on individuals with a happy and cheerful disposition and positive attitude.
• We also need Greek and English interpreters and translators competent to interpret and translate our administrative notes and press releases as well as the other key documents used by the ‘Friends for Life’ Limassol Hospice Care Unit.
